Iraqi PM reassures nation's backing of Lebanon’s stability
During the discussions, both officials reviewed the state of bilateral relations, developments in Lebanon, and broader regional dynamics, as noted in a statement from al-Sudani’s media office.
The meeting covered various areas of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, telecommunications, investment opportunities, enhanced private sector involvement, reactivation of the Iraqi-Lebanese Business Council, and the regulation of labor issues and mobility between the two countries.
Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s "firm and principled stance in support of Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and rejection of aggression," as stated in the release.
In response, Haidar expressed his government’s continued dedication to "strengthening a constructive partnership with Iraq and expanding economic cooperation in the interests of both brotherly nations," the statement added.
