US Embassy Warns of Threats to Hotels in Iraq’s Kurdish Region

(MENAFN) The United States Embassy in Baghdad issued a warning on Friday, cautioning that militias aligned with Iran could target hotels commonly used by foreigners in Iraq’s Kurdish Region to neighboring countries such as Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.

The warning comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following airstrikes carried out by U.S. and Israel forces on Feb. 28, which reportedly killed over 1,000 people, including Ali Khamenei, more than 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials.

In retaliation, Iran has launched multiple drone and missile attacks targeting sites linked to the United States throughout the region. One such strike in Kuwait killed six U.S. service members at a tactical operations center.
